ABOUT THE IDEAS POWERED WEBSITE

One of the missions of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), acting through the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, is to support the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights and to combat the threat of IP infringements. In pursuit of this mission, EUIPO has developed the Ideas Powered initiative to raise awareness of the value of intellectual property and the importance of respecting it.

The general purpose of the Ideas Powered website is to provide information about the Ideas Powered initiative, such as the content of dedicated social media accounts, a video competition and contributions from young opinion leaders and multipliers.

The aim is to educate young Europeans about Intellectual Property (IP) and inspire them to think about how IP works in practice, for example by raising awareness of different IP rights, their economic and social value and the impact they have, thereby highlighting the relevance of Intellectual Property in their daily lives. EUIPO, acting through the Observatory, is committed to ensuring that this website will be continually available and to providing a professional level of skill and care in terms of security although this cannot always be guaranteed as access to the website and its services may occasionally be suspended, restricted or impeded to permit repairs, maintenance or the introduction of new services or facilities.

APPLICABLE TERMS

Access to, and use of, any part of the Ideas Powered website (hereinafter ‘the website’), any document, material or other information, including data, text, images, and sound (hereinafter ‘Information’) available on the website and any of the services provided via the website (hereinafter ‘Services’), are governed by these general terms and conditions of use (hereinafter ‘General Terms’) and constitute acceptance of these General Terms by the user.

Specific terms and conditions may apply to individual services or specific parts of the website and, if different from the General Terms, they will take precedence over the General Terms.

EUIPO reserves the right to amend these General Terms and any other specific terms on the website at any time by posting amended terms and conditions on the website. These amendments will take effect on the date on which they are posted.

EUIPO and the EU Observatory operate as part of a network of EU and non-EU National Offices to provide a single point of access for information about the enforcement and infringement of IP rights. The content provided by EUIPO can therefore originate from partner data-holders and/or contain third-party proprietary information.

Information published on the website may be protected by intellectual and industrial property rights. Proprietary rights, including copyright, subsisting in any of the Information available via this website are vested in their respective owners, these being EUIPO, partner data-holders or any other third party credited as such. Access to the Services does not confer on users any ownership of, or title in, the Information on the website. All rights not specifically granted herewith are reserved by the respective owner(s).

RIGHT OF USE

Access to the Information and Services on this website is granted for consultation within the scope and objectives pursued by EUIPO, according to the applicable European Union law.

Users uploading or otherwise submitting content within the scope of the present website and for the duration decided by EUIPO, grant EUIPO a worldwide licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify and create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes necessary to ensure more efficient Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content, within the scope and duration foreseen by the applicable European Union law.

Under no circumstances may users use the Ideas Powered logo or the official name and credentials of Ideas Powered to imply affiliation, endorsement or any other official link to Ideas Powered without prior written and formal authorisation from EUIPO. The extraction of substantial parts of the content therein - howsoever performed - is not permitted. Users may deep-link to specific pages of the website but web integration techniques, such as framing and inline linking, are not permitted.
